The Plumber
When living in a dwelling in which probably four houses share the same drain, we had a situation happen where the drain blocked up and began to overflow in the basement. With a language barrier leaving us unable to communicate effectively, our neighbors were unaware of the interconnection and the back up and continued to use the water even after an attempt was made to explain what was going on. It was obvious to us that even though we thought we might be able to solve this problem ourselves, that it made more sense to involve a plumber and get it taken care of quickly and professionally.
So why are we relating this story here in this format about success and The Law of Attraction? Because this story illustrates exactly a point we want to make that there is always more than one way to see something, and things which we often call problems aren’t nearly all that, but more so opportunities waiting for us to both improve our responses, control of our feelings, and to be grateful. If we do that, then we are going to be using The Law of Attraction much more effectively, aren’t we?
The plumber arrived quickly and cleared the clog easily because he had the right tool for the job, a large rotating snake capable of reaching it from an access point. For this the fee was a little over $200. That may seem like a lot, but the plumbing company has bills to pay, also. They have a building where other people schedule appointments and dispatch people, electricity, phones, advertising, trucks, equipment and so on. This is a much-shortened list as anyone who ever has been in business can attest to.
We could have focused on the fact that we were now two hundred-plus dollars lighter, or on what seemed like the unfortunate nature of it all, but we knew that this wasn’t productive considering that we are attempting to attract into our lives the good things we wish to stay in harmony with, under the law. So instead we thought about how happy and grateful we were that we had someone we could call who would be there right away, knowing how extensive the work could have been and thus how expensive some similar situations are to resolve. We were indeed happy and grateful that it wasn’t a few thousand dollars instead of a couple hundred. The basement never flooded beyond the dip by the drain, and for that we are eternally grateful for as well because there was a bunch of stuff stored right on the floor which would be ruined.
We had the money for this expenditure and while we now can’t spend it on stuff like pizza or gas, we are truly blessed that we were able to swing it. We met the plumber and had the chance to talk about The Law of Attraction and make a friend, as well. We’re not perfect at responding this way, but we get better the more we practice it, and for the opportunity to put it to the test again, we are extremely happy and grateful. We passed the test this time!
Negative situations are golden opportunities if we would just see it that way. It’s up to us, isn’t it?
