Affirmations to Move Ahead With
What are your weaknesses right now? What are the excuses you habitually make instead of doing what you know you should do or not doing what you know you shouldn’t? Why not tackle these habits right now by designing for yourself a new affirmative phrase to say to yourself instead of the excuses you’ve given yourself for so long? Why not make a fresh start right now towards that goal you’ve claimed is important to you?
If you have a habit of putting something off, or of not doing something right now because you “don’t feel like doing it right now” how about affirming to yourself each time you catch yourself attempting to put it off or do it later, “Do it now” or “Don’t be lazy”, and then immediately follow this affirmation with the action you were at first avoiding. You don’t have to complete a particular task in order to make progress, just get started on it. You might begin this way, but also maybe affirm to yourself once you’ve started, “That wasn’t so bad, let me do a little more, too!”
Another affirmation to get yourself off the fence, as soon as you detect that you are delaying, say, “What am I waiting for, am I trying to avoid success?” or maybe “My blessings are directly tied to how much of a blessing I am to others.” No matter what the problem is, you can find or create an affirmation to help handle it.
Another thing we can do is to memorize a few quotes about getting things done. Here’s a few:
“I’d be more frightened by not using whatever abilities I’d been given. I’d be more frightened by procrastination and laziness.” - Denzel Washington
“Procrastination is opportunity’s assassin.” – Victor Kiam
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” - Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I wasted time, and now doth time waste me.” - William Shakespeare
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to expedite my life’s ambitions today?”
