Getting Our Entire Mind Aligned
It’s a fact! You can hold one thought in your conscious mind and the exact opposite thought in your subconscious mind at the same moment in time! The reason this is good to know is that so often we are defeated on the way to accomplishing our big goals and aspirations by the thought held within our subconscious mind which bubbles up in some manner of sabotage or another. The subconscious mind is where the dreams you have are shattered because it takes what learning you done have to date- right or wrong- and it compares and contrasts what you are trying to do now.
When there is a conflict, it gives you a feeling in the pit of your stomach that you are wrong with what you are attempting to do with your conscious mind. Keep in mind that the subconscious mind is a far greater base of operation than the conscious mind is. Most of our mind power is centered in the subconscious mind, about 90% of it. This is what makes real change so difficult!
“Whatever thoughts have done in your life can be undone by a shift in your awareness.” - Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith
There are ways to change the programming that the subconscious mind has accepted thus far and obviously- if there are errors in it- then that’s a must if we want to accomplish any real change in our lives. How do we know there are errors in it? Look at your bank account. Look at what’s not going right in your life. How’s the true state of your health? Is there a lack of progress regarding any change you’d like to make about yourself, that you know you should make, that you’d bet money on it being on the correct course of action- and yet you don’t change? That’s how you know.
One of the best ways to change our subconscious programming is to replace it with a vision of the end result of what we want as we go to sleep at night and as we arise in the morning. If we concentrate at those times on seeing clearly the change as happening now, being thankful for it, getting excited about it, we will powerfully change the inner programming to reflect what we already know is the ideal on a conscious level.
We can avoid all self-limiting affirmations like, “I’d like to weigh less but I hate dieting.” or “Every time I give up smoking, I gain weight.” These statements become a creation when we utter them. Instead, install new affirmations like, “Every day I eat more and more healthy food.” or “I’m really not enjoying smoking anymore.”
“You will be a failure, until you impress the subconscious with the conviction you are a success. This is done by making an affirmation which ‘clicks.’” – Florence Scovel Shinn
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to get my subconscious mind on board with the changes I wish to make?”
