Methods for Implanting our Goals

Visualization is the king of all the methods we have at our disposal to implant an idea, a concept, a dream, or a goal deep into our subconscious mind so that it begins to move us powerfully into the direction of the thing we desire. How do we do it? If you were asked to think of a jumbo jet taking off from a runway, you flash a picture in your mind, wouldn’t you? Didn’t you see one just now? We think in pictures. All we need to do in order to move ourselves towards our goals is to see them clearly in our mind on a repetitive basis. The best time to do this is when we are totally relaxed. When we go to bed at night is an awesome time for as we are about to slumber the borderline between the conscious and subconscious mind becomes more porous. Anytime we can effectively quiet our mind from other thoughts can be a great time to concentrate on this vision we have.

We don’t need to actually see all the elements of our success, a picture representation works very well. For instance, if you were thinking of becoming a Broadway star, you don’t have to see yourself on stage doing that, which would be a fairly complex visualization. You could just imagine your name on the marquee. As long as you can wrap up what you see in the emotions of joy and excitement, that’s all that’s needed. Your mind will take it from there. Doing this requires just a few minutes each time and yet the with changes you’ll make in getting the intuitive thoughts you’ll need to explain what to do next will be provided for you. Never focus on how it will happen, just go with the flow of ideas that come to you and act on them, as you do your visualizations daily.

Another way to impress an idea deep into the subconscious mind is by auto-suggestion. Your affirmation that you use for this must not conflict with your beliefs right now or it will not be accepted as truth. Saying, “I am thin right now” will not help you become thin if that is your goal. What that does is set up an argument in your mind and your desire will be defeated. A better affirmation would be, “I am so happy and grateful now that I’ve decided that eating healthy food in modest amounts is best for me.” Another could be, “I am so happy and grateful now that I decided to focus my attention on eating fruit and vegetables to reach and maintain my ideal weight.” Neither of these will create any conflict because by saying them you affirm the fact you made a decision. Even if you deviate from the statements in what you eat, you can continue to install these ideas and eventually you will change.

How to do the affirmations is simple. It may seem a little cumbersome at first, but get an MP3 player which allows you to record and say your chosen affirmation about 10 times and end the recording. Make it the only voice recording you do on that MP3 player for now, so that when you put it on, it repeats over and over again. You can easily delete defective tracks using a computer, as well. Need technical help? Ask a kid.

Now take your track and listen to it 2 ½ hours a day for 90 days. Do that while you wash dishes, exercise, do ironing, or whatever. You can put one earplug in and have the other out to be aware of your surroundings. That’s the “cumbersome” part, but don’t let it put you off. The changes you wish to install by doing this are long lasting and effective. You can always do it again if you ever begin to show signs of reverting back to old habits, but this method works so well, you’ll be amazed. No self- imposed visualization needed, you’ll do that automatically. Whatever method you choose, get started now. You have ONE life, make it happen!
