Own it, Forgive it, Move on
We’re imperfect, we humans are. We make mistakes, we do dumb things, we let ourselves down daily, we are always screwing up. Good thing, too. We know we are at least trying if we are making mistakes. Anyhow, we don’t want to be dwelling on our failures if we want The Law of Attraction to kick in for us in our favor, we want to notice them, forgive ourselves quickly and- more importantly- completely, and move on.
“A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.” – Chinese Proverb
Remembering to stay focused on the good we seek both in the world and within ourselves will take us to new heights better than looking at our flaws and getting angry, upset, or sad that we aren’t there yet. Always keep in mind, your reality is going to be a reflection of what is going on inside of you, not simply in your mind, but in heart. It’s the feelings the Law of Attraction respond to, not mere thoughts.
“My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents and I lay them both at his feet.” – Mahatma Gandhi
What the heck did Gandhi mean by that? Noticing our flaws means that we are humbled by them, and it is in remembering that we have flaws that we don’t get too big for our own britches. Did Gandhi say that he got all caught up in them? No, he considered them to be a gift, and then he sought the perfection of God for them, just as he believed his talent and successes where attributed to the Divine. So essentially, what he is saying here is every trait and experience has an important meaning for us. He’s also saying that when we get all caught up in trying to take credit for something that we trip ourselves up.
“Man’s greatness lies in his power of thought.”– Blaise Pascal
Where you choose to incorporate your feelings is completely within your ability to control. That being said, we can completely let go of that control and allow it to be driven by whatever comes along, or we can find ways of channeling what comes along to move us forward. What we mean by that is not to suppress the emotions we would naturally feel at first when things go wrong, but to immediately get about the task of seeing the value in the experience. One of the greatest acts we can do is forgive ourselves, for when we understand clearly that we must, then we also will conclude that we must forgive others their imperfections as well, and all of that moves us towards a better future- because The Law of Attraction reacts to your emotional state of mind.
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to make sure I am always forgiving my shortcomings as I seek what I want?”
