“It is as if there were a natural law which ordained that to achieve this end, to refine the curve of a piece of furniture, or a ship’s keel, or the fuselage of an airplane, until gradually it partakes of the elemental purity of the curve of the human” – Antoine de Saint Exupery
Daily Nugget of Gold 1032
We think that might just be our shortest title yet! We’re proud of ourselves! Okay, we’re done patting ourselves on the back… so… IF physical matter reality isn’t fundamental as the scientists are now indicating- then that can pretty much only mean that… non-physical reality is. What other explanation is there? We imagine you might wish to label this God or Spiritual Existence, but just for our purposes- we’ll only call it non-physical reality- not to denigrate anyone’s beliefs but just for the purposes of conversation, okay? It’s hard to argue that we don’t exist- it seems as if we do- even if that existence is an illusion that we are part of. As far as we can tell, we are alive and we have the ability to interact with our world- and the world seems to have some pretty steady rules which have the ability to keep us “sane” (Whatever that is! – we say with a belly laugh)
Those physical laws, like “The Second Law of Thermodynamics” (One has to wonder why we always are talking about THAT law… was the first one a dud?) of The Law of Gravity, or The Law of Displacement seem to be fairly consistent and important to us, true? These things frame our “reality” or at least what is our illusion of what reality is. We can count on steel expanding when we heat it up in The United States or the exact same thing happening in Japan.
Getting back to fundamentals, though- if we consider all of the information of science in the last century- we would have to admit that physicists are now saying that these physical laws are secondary- not primary laws- if physical matter reality isn’t primary. The bottom line of all of these last several days of discussion is this: We should look for clues as to what to do in the most fundamental of all places. Does that make sense? Then suddenly it seems that we should begin looking for things that seem to occur again and again on a regular basis based on non-physical events, nature, and tendencies, right? This is nothing new, though. Throughout human existence there have been people telling us that. That’s good! We at least have somewhere to begin.
What’s different now is that while scientific inquiry isn’t yet exhausted, it’s now pointing us back to experimentation within ourselves of which of the non-physical theories seem to emerge as being primary. We can stumble around trying to figure out each of them on our own, or we can save ourselves some time and aggravation, most likely, by adopting concepts already established in human thought and seeing if they work for us. What’s your pleasure on that?
Yeah, us too. Shortcuts like this are usually nice.
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“If I learn something which saves me from doing it the hard way, is that a good thing?”
