Transitioning from Needy
In our last session together we spoke about how some people dwell in the emotion of being needy and that this has dire consequences both in the reactions of relationships around them and in the response that The Law of Attraction has to that internalized feeling. We then asked people to consider our question of the day which sought out the answer as to whether you feel needy at times and in what way. Is that being negative? Let’s start right there today and move forward.
If we think we might have broken our ankle, is it negative to want to see the full extent of the damage by getting an x ray? If our treatment plan hinges on how serious our injury is, wouldn’t we want to know so we don’t choose the wrong one? Honest self-evaluation and assessment is a tool we use to grow with, not something to be feared or avoided. Does that make sense?
As we look at ourselves and our state of mind in regards to what we think about what we desire and our ability to obtain it, and if we find that we are needy in some way, what does that mean? Consider that the feeling of need might arise out of a feeling of inferiority or lack of confidence in our ability to get what we want and keep it. If we accept that as the diagnosis then perhaps we can focus on a cure for it.
“There is such a thing as perfection…and our purpose for living is to find that perfection and show it forth….Each of us is in truth an unlimited idea of freedom. Everything that limits us we have to put aside.” – Richard Bach
So…what IS the cure? May we suggest a better understanding the true nature of wealth? Wealth is the abundance of everything good. If we can begin to understand and believe that we truly live in an unfathomable sea of abundance, then what would be the purpose of feeling needy? Most folks falsely believe that wealth is finite and limited. Would you believe that if, for example, for every check you wrote twice as much money was automatically deposited in your bank account? You could say, “Yes, but it doesn’t work that way” and you’d be right. Well, at least for YOU it’s probably not working that way!
Think about this for a moment- are there some people who, no matter how much they spend, the money just seems to flow to them in avalanches of abundance? If that’s true for them then why could it not be or become true for you? The major disadvantage might just be our own perspective. We’re just scratching the surface on this so far and we’ve got some further exploring to do as we look within ourselves to find out just why we are getting the results we’re getting and how we can change that for the better. Would you be so kind as to join us next time?
