The Wisdom of Og Mandino

To be always intending to make a new and better life but never to find time to set about it is as to put off eating and drinking and sleeping from one day to the next until you’re dead.” – Og Mandino

Who was Og Mandino? He is the author of the best selling book, The Greatest Salesman in the World, and many others. His books have sold over 50 million copies and have helped to shape the landscape of success and self-help.

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.” – Og Mandino

So where did he get his start? He had ht a low point in his life many people never meet. He was an alcoholic and was contemplating suicide when we walked into a library in Cleveland Ohio and began reading the fare of self-help and success authors.

Remind thyself, in the darkest moments, that every failure is only a step toward success, every detection of what is false directs you toward what is true, every trial exhausts some tempting form of error, and every adversity will only hide, for a time, your path to peace and fulfillment.” – Og Mandino

Finding inspiration from many sources ranging from The Bible to such voices as Emmet Fox, Napoleon Hill, and W. Clement Stone, Mandino set out and created a philosophy of his own. Why is it that many of the most successful people among us had to hit rock bottom before they fly? Maybe it’s so they can appreciate the magnificence of success that much more.

Never feel shame for trying and failing, for he who never failed is he who never tried.” – Og Mandino

Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
