“When the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective.” – Stephen R. Covey

We’re going to look at something different today, something that some of us find we have to deal with. Whether we are a micro-manager or work with one, we want to understand the dynamics a little better in regards to the relationship this style of management has with The Law of Attraction.
Sometimes people are tempted to micro-manage their spouse or significant other, sometimes they wish to micro-manage their kids, but most people think of micro-managers as people we find in the business world. This topic is actually related in a way to the discussion we’ve just been having on being right, on arguments, and on getting along with others.
Why do people micro-manage? They may do so because they believe that they know the best way to handle things. They may fear other people making some of the same mistakes they did as they gained experience, so they may have the intention of helping the other person or people do better. Some micro-managers fear being blamed for things that could go wrong.
One word that kept coming up was “fear”. Do you agree that micro-managers seem to have a little (or a lot) more fear than the average person? The Law of Attraction gives us more of what we are, and if on a deep, subconscious level we are fearful, then we can count on the law giving us things to fear.
What about the well intentioned folks that want to help the people they are micro-managing succeed? In the belief that those folks being helped need to be heavily coached through all their decisions there is an element of distrust, is there not? “If I don’t show them exactly how to do this they might screw it up!” might be the sentiment here. Yes, they might. It’s also possible that they would creatively find a way to do it better than anyone else did it before. Micro-managing, by it’s very implementation must stifle creativity. If we attempt to shut down other people’s creativity, then by The Law of Attraction, we also shut down our own.
Do micro-managers look for the best qualities of people and bless and praise them or are they on the look out for what people are doing wrong in order to correct it? Which of these two approaches do you think that The Law of Attraction will respond to in a positive manner?
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to insure I am always looking for the best in people so as to bless and praise that?”
