“Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.” – Timothy Leary (And yes, we know who he is! LOL!) It’s still a great quote!

Seeking What We Want
What was the entire verse again we spent time with yesterday?
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
“Keep on seeking, and you will find.” is the portion of this verse we’ll hone in on now. Seeking. Looking for, searching for, going on a quest to find what you want- this quote seems to be saying that if you’ll just do that, you’ll find what you are looking for.
As before, there isn’t any limit on what you will find. What you find is based only in what you seek. Whatever you seek, you are to be enabled to locate. This is good if you seek good things, things that bless you and others- but suppose you are highly suspicious that your spouse is cheating or your boss is out to get you- then what? As you seek proof of that, what does this verse say about it? You will find it. Ouch! It seems to be hinting that there is some sort of creative power related to the act of seeking.
We can design the seeking to bring great benefit to ourselves. Suppose we are seeking for ways to build and maintain a happy marriage, isn’t that better than looking for potential faults? What would happen if we sought out ways to bring more value to our employer instead of worrying about whether or not they are “out to get us”? Why don’t we seek for new and interesting opportunities to serve others and generate income? We could seek out answers to having better health, too, couldn’t we? If we are assured that we will find what we are earnestly looking for, then why not put this to use? Why search for things we don’t want to find? Wouldn’t it be better just to take a small measure of forethought and help prevent the bad things in life by strengthening the good?
As an experiment, think of some sort of thing to seek and spend a couple of days doing that. We proved this to ourselves a while back by looking for orange cars. Our spouse mentioned that we should narrow this down even further to orange SUVs. Guess what? We found them, and we continue to notice them after just two days spent counting them. Let’s look for the things in life which will be a blessing to us, let’s concentrate on empowering ourselves by seeking out the good. Make sense?
