“Energy and persistence conquer all things” – Benjamin Franklin

The Common Element
We’ve done four- count them! – FOUR pieces on a simple little verse. (Gee, imagine what we could glean from dipping into the scriptures more often!) Not to be outdone, there is one important point we didn’t do justice to, and yes- it’s in the same verse. Well, sort of. Not in every translation, mind you- but in the one we’ve been sharing the most. See if you see what we mean:
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
You probably guessed by now that the common element in all three phrases of this verse is “Keep on…” Why is this little two word preface to each action so important? Most would say, well, probably because not every plan works out. Sometimes life throws obstacles our way and we have to move past them. If you said that, congratulate yourself- you’re right. That said, there is something else at play here when it comes to The Law of Attraction and it really has very little to do with things not always working out.
The repetitive nature of what the verse advises here serves an important function, it is to impress the idea of what we want onto the deeper part of our mind, the subconscious. The overwhelming consensus of highly successful people is that they were not able to do what they did on their own, they recognize that they had help and the help is usually credited as “from above” or “from God”. Praying for something is also done in repetitive fashion by most folks who pray, and passing our desires to the deeper part of our mind is considered to be a form of prayer by many.
Our subconscious mind is not only the instrument with which we may alter our own behavior, it is also the wellspring of intuition. It’s a two-way communication device, and it’s built right into us. You may choose to doubt or disbelieve that this could be true- but the most successful people in life rarely question it. Further, science is starting to come to grips with a world that they’re finding to have far more influence from people’s thoughts are than previously thought. It’s not an easy time for those scientists who have long held that no such connection could possibly exist. Still, it’s a very exciting time for those folks who study this stuff with an open mind.
So there you have it, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. Create the opportunities in life you want to discover by persistently going for them. Have fun with it! Really, enjoy it- and the magic it will bring to your life!
