“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.” – Khalil Gibran

“There are different truths because our universe is hierarchically structured in layers. The atomic has it’s own truth. The nuclear world has its own completely different truth; and they’re both valid, they’re both self-consistent. So, there’s the truth of diversity where the observer and the observed are separately identifiable systems, and there’s the deeper truth of unity, in which there is no separation between the observer and the observed.
So, we can talk about life at all levels, each level is valid, but the deepest level in this scientific age is the level of unity. One has to be very clear about this, it’s a concept most people don’t get quite- it’s very important. You can drag me across the floor by my arm, you can drag me across the floor by my atoms, or by my nuclei, or by my cells; it all has the same effect: I get dragged across the floor. These are simply different levels of the description of the one reality that is me.” – John Hagelin, Ph.D.
This is probably one of the longest quotes we’ve used since we’ve been writing, but sometimes a blurb just doesn’t do the concept being conveyed justice. This is still not the complete point that Dr. Hagelin was making, for in this piece he says that not only are these levels valid, but the deeper level of unity of consciousness ties everything together at the smallest- and deepest levels of our existence. This is something we want to understand better if we want to know how The Law of Attraction works and why it’s important to avoid harming others if we don’t wish to harm ourselves. It’s also good to know if we wish to be successful that our thoughts matter and why.
Recent scientific discoveries in quantum physics have shown us that there must be a deeper level of being which connects what we’ve come to know as matter and that connection isn’t dependent on any of the known modes of communication between one place and another, but rather there is an existence that transcends space and time. Once we get that, then we are better equipped to successfully navigate our own lives and have greater impact on others, for we are one with them on a deeper level.
Once again we find our senses getting in the way of this, which is why meditation is key. It’s only through the quieting of our own noisy thoughts that we can gain access to this greater and more important level of reality.
Here is John again, this time on a better vision for humanity: “Nobody would have ever guessed-I wouldn’t have guessed-the extraordinary degree to which you can reduce social violence through meditation.” – John Hagelin
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to benefit humanity, and thus myself as well, today?”
