United We Stand
Our last session focused on how at some deeper level, we are all one. We can be excused to an extent for not realizing that, because as we look at each other we don’t see this reality so easily, but just as we don’t see the mass of atoms buzzing about in our hands- just because we don’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not true. Today we’re going to take a little bit deeper look into the evidence that we are joined in some way even though we may think we aren’t by what we know about the world through our ordinary senses.
Einstein wasn’t comfortable with quantum theory because he believed that certain laws of physics as they were then known would be violated if quantum theory turned out to be true. We still don’t fully understand everything in regards to our existence, but we are likely on the right path when we consider the evidence we’ve gained to date. Here’s what we know:
In the atomic world, two things separated by great distances- hundreds of miles or even a galaxy apart- can still have a relationship with each other in some way, and so profound is that connection that if you do something to one of them, the other responds immediately. Immediately, as in- faster than the speed of light, faster than the speed of electricity or electro-magnetic waves- faster because it happens instantly. That means that either our previous assumptions of time and or of space- or both- are incorrect in some way. Remember what Dr. John Hagelin was saying that we quoted last time? That there are different levels of truth, depending on which scale we are looking at. Whether we’re talking about ourselves as we see us, or on the scale of the really, really tiny- these truths are valid and also must have a working relationship with the entire hierarchy of the scale of sizes.
We might not see the connections to each other, but since we are all made up of atoms, those connections exist at that level and even smaller scales. We also know that these connections have effects in things larger than atoms. What’s really interesting is how well these concepts underscore things like Spirituality and religious teachings about how we ought to treat each other. Make no mistake about it, there are some scientists who are hardened in their opposition to these thoughts, but just the same- there are others who welcome such discoveries because they revere the truth, whatever the truth may be and wherever the truth may lead us.
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to better understand my connections with all of humanity?”
