“Karma, memory, and desire are just the software of the soul. It’s conditioning that the soul undergoes in order to create experience. And it’s a cycle. In most people, the cycle is a conditioned response. They do the same things over and over again.” – Deepak Chopra

Practical Applications for Subconscious Advancement
We’ve outdone ourselves with this title, haven’t we? Before we begin, we’ve read a headline in the news that people will soon control their TV with their thoughts. And you thought family members argue NOW about control of the remote! Imagine just how messed up that will be! Seriously though, we want to banish the idea that thoughts only stay in our heads- nothing could be further from the truth.
So how do we use the subconscious mind with all it’s immense power to better our lives? We can call it “programming” or “conditioning”. Anthony Robbins uses the word conditioning because it seems to fit better with what we need to do. We want to set up a way of conditioning ourselves so that our subconscious mind’s natural tendencies lead us effortlessly to an outcome we desire. If the effects should wear off, and they often do- (remember- our deeper mind is always getting input and so it’s also forever writing over past “programming” or “conditioning”) then we can simply reinforce the message we want it to heed in order to create the outcome we desire.
Let’s go back to Professor Ehrsson again- if you haven’t read the last two Nuggets, this would be a good time to do so- what he showed in his experiments is key here. What Ehrsson demonstrated is that fooling the subconscious mind into having a different reaction than what we otherwise would have isn’t difficult or cumbersome. What’s really amazing is that we can do this totally within our minds and without a lab full of scientific equipment. He showed that after just a few moments of conditioning, the subconscious mind can be trained to react much differently than it otherwise would. He also demonstrated that the conditioning “sticks” even if we logically conclude (consciously) it was based on bogus information.
There are several different ways we can do this work, and we’ll go over some of them for you on these pages. We wish to remind our readers of a time when perhaps they’ve seen the power of this conditioning in action. Did you ever get “sick as a dog” after eating out somewhere or consuming a certain food? The truth is that unless a bunch of people all got sick from the same thing, we have no real way of knowing if that was the food doing it or maybe instead- a germ we picked up. Just the same, the resulting outcome is usually we won’t go back to that place or we won’t eat that same food again- sometimes for a very long time. Sometimes never! That’s real power, should we find a way to harness it for good. We’re going to help with that. Get ready! It’s going to be both worthwhile and fun!
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“If I could spend just minutes a day doing something which will easily and effortlessly benefit me, would I?”
