“Miracles happen everyday, change your perception of what a miracle is and you’ll see them all around you.” – Jon Bon Jovi

Things are Improving
We’ve encountered people who look at the news and declare, “It gets worse every day, it’s just terrible!”, and for them, it certainly is. Making this sort of a statement and really feeling that way opens up the floodgates of bad things so they can flow into your life. That last sentence will either seem to be absurd or a bold-faced lie to some people, but we can assure you that its accurate. Our experience in life heavily depends on our emotional reactions to what we see. If our reactions are negative, we are given more negativity in our reality. Fortunately, we can turn this all around through our thoughts.
When we begin to see the negative in a different light, then we have a chance to change our reality for the better. We harken back to Napoleon Hill’s observation, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” Let’s look at some negative situations and find some of those seeds, shall we?
Suppose we’re in a job which has turned out to be a dead-end. We might be noting that there is no real chance for advancement even if we love doing what we do. What could be good about that? We could consider that perhaps the management is doing us a favor by providing us the incentive to look elsewhere. Suppose we read of people who are homeless and destitute within our community, is that good? Hardly, but it does allow for something wonderful to come out of it- an opportunity to do something to help these people. What should we do? We get to decide what our own approach to the situation is.
Imagine that we have very little money coming in (for many of us, this won’t take much imagination, ha ha), how can that be a good thing? We could begin to place our focus on creating more prosperity in our lives. Without the negative condition in the first place, we might never see the opportunities out there. We have to search to find them, but most of us won’t search when we feel comfortable.
Ed Beckley said it over and over again, “There’s always a solution”. This should be like a mantra to us, reminding us that if we will just see the positive when we are observing the negative, there is something for us to do, some way we can part the clouds and let the sunlight flow in. It’s up to us.
