“We must not allow other people’s limited perceptions to define us.” – Virginia Satir

What is success? If you’re like a lot of people, you might define it as living a life of luxury, the big house, the fancy new car, jet-setting to wonderful vacation spots, and so on. We’re not here to put a definition on what success is, however. For some people, being successful means having a loving family. There are many folks who don’t view financial success as being all that important. The reason we’re not going to define what success is here is simple: We don’t know what it is. It’s different for different people.
All of that being said, it’s probably a good idea for each of us to come up with our own definition of what success is for us, then at least we can work towards having it and notice if we are off-course when we come up short. In coming to terms of what success means for us, personally, we have one tiny suggestion for our reading audience, just one. No matter what your idea of success might be, no matter what you being successful in your mind’s eye is- consider the following…
Why not build the reward of being successful into your vision? You can choose to take the end-point instead as your definition of success, say, “If I have a million dollar home free and clear, a million dollars in the bank, and 3 brand new, top of the line cars” for instance, then yes- you have something to shoot for. Something that clearly will define whether or not you make it. That’s one way to look at success. The other is to take your goal, whatever it might be, and make the process of progress towards it be your definition of success.
An even better approach might be to take the adventurous state of being as you embark upon your quest as your own personal definition of success. Why? Because if you keep yourself in “adventure mode” and stuff goes wrong sometimes- and it will- you’ll still see yourself as successful. Why is it important to see yourself that way? Given how The Law of Attraction works, that is- it gives us more of what we are- feeling successful about having fun and adventure towards a given goal, the law is pulled into working on our behalf.
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“What can I do to define success for me in a way which assures me of a great and fun life?”
