Getting No Respect
“The attitude of mind necessarily depends upon what we think. Therefore, the secret of all power, all achievement and all possession depends upon our method of thinking.” Charles Haanel
We’re delving into the work, The Master Key System, by Charles Haanel. The above quote is from the first installment of the correspondence course which aims at helping us alter the way we think in order to obtain the results of success we all desire.
Today we’re going to look at the impartiality of The Law of Attraction. To some people, the fact that this great law is impartial will seem to be unfair in some way. It doesn’t care what station in life you were born into, so if you were the product of billionaire parents, your genes and resources don’t buy you any favoritism at all, in fact- those things may actually be a hindrance to you as you set about to be successful in your own right.
Haanel compared this impartiality to the law of electricity. It follows that is someone is ignorant of the damage electricity can do and then stands on a cement floor and touches a live wire, they will likely be killed whether or not they are wealthy or poor. Likewise, whomever flips the proper switch in a room can illuminate it with no difficulty. The electricity makes no distinction in whom it punishes or serves.
“As the sum of all attributes are contained in the Universal Mind, which is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent, these attributes must be present at all times in their potential form in every individual. Therefore, when the individual thinks, the thought is compelled by its nature to embody itself in an objectivity or condition which will correspond with its origin.
Every thought therefore is a cause and every condition an effect; for this reason it is absolutely essential that you control your thoughts so as to bring forth only desirable conditions.
All power is from within, and is absolutely under your control; it comes through exact knowledge and by the voluntary exercises of exact principles.” – Charles Haanel
In that last quote Haanel describes how anyone who applies the principle of right thinking shall get the results of success and power they are striving for. It follows that the opposite is also true, that the wrong way of thinking will bring negative results to a person, regardless of whom they are and what station in life they may occupy. The law pays no respect as to the person doing the thinking in any way, The beautiful thing about this law is that anyone can apply it in a positive way and gain significant and desired results.
Question of the Day to Ask Ourselves
“Have I really given much thought to my method of thinking, thus far?”
